Hanneke Rouw Cellokonzert
She was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and started her piano education at the age of six. In 2002 she moved to the Netherlands to continue her studies with Lena and Mikhail Markov. Three years later she was accepted at the young talent class of ArtEZ Conservatorium in Zwolle where she continued her studies. She graduated there in 2012 with honors after enjoying lessons with Frank van de Laar and Frank Peters. Masha won prizes on various national competitions, including three times the first prize and audience awards at Princes Christina Concours Oost and twice the second prize at the SJMN competition. Masha’s final exam recital was crowned the best of the year by the Friends of ArtEZ foundation. Apart from her teachers at ArtEZ Masha had lessons with many great pianists, such as Stephen Kovachevic, Leslie Howard, Igor Roma and Mila Baslawskaya. She also participated multiple times in festivals such as the Orlando Chamber Music Festival, the Dartington International Summer School and the Peter the Great festival. Masha has performed with different orchestras, such as the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, in piano concerts by Mendelssohn, Chopin and Rachmaninov, and has worked together with members of the Valerius ensemble. Currently she is an active chamber musician, performing regularly with her various ensembles. Next to her piano career Masha is a monetary policy advisor at the Dutch Central Bank having finished a bachelor in Physics and Mathematics and a research master in Economics.
